Course Objectives: The objective of the course is to make the student understand the behavior of materials under different types of loading for different types structures
Course Outcomes: At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
- Conduct tension test on Materials like steel etc.
- Conduct compression tests on spring, wood and concrete
- Conduct flexural and torsion test to determine elastic constants
- Determine hardness of metals

- Tension test
- Bending test on (Steel / Wood) Cantilever beam.
- Bending test on simple support beam.
- Torsion test
- Hardness test
- Spring test
- Compression test on wood or concrete
- Impact test
- Shear test
- Verification of Maxwell’s Reciprocal theorem on beams.
- Use of electrical resistance strain gauges
- Continuous beam – deflection test.

- Brinnell’s / Rock well’s hardness testing machine

- Beam setup for Maxwell’s theorem verification.

- Electrical Resistance gauges.
