ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY

UNIT - I:

Network theorems (KCL, KVL, Thevenin, Norton, Maximum power transfer) applied to steady-state DC circuit, Single-phase AC circuits and phasor diagrams, series and parallel resonance.

UNIT - II:

Three-phase AC circuits with balanced and unbalanced loads, phasor presentation, measurement of three-phase power by two-wattmeter method.

UNIT - III:

Single-phase transformer: construction, types, EMF equation, equivalent circuit, phasor diagram, regulation, efficiency, OC and SC tests.

UNIT - IV:

DC machines: Construction, types, principle of operation, EMF and torque equation, DC generator: OCC and external characteristic curves and efficiency. DC motors: speed-torque characteristics, starting, 3-point starter, speed control and efficiency.

UNIT - V:

Three-phase induction motor: construction, types, principles of operation, torque-slip characteristics, starting methods. Introduction to three-phase synchronous motor.
