ELECTRICAL MEASUREMENTS LAB
The following experiments are required to be conducted as compulsory experiments:
- Calibration and Testing of single phase energy Meter
- Calibration of dynamometer power factor meter
- Crompton D.C. Potentiometer – Calibration of PMMC ammeter and PMMC voltmeter
- Kelvin’s double Bridge – Measurement of resistance – Determination of Tolerance.
- Measurement of % ratio error and phase angle of given C.T. by comparison.
- Schering bridge & Anderson bridge.
- Measurement of 3 phase reactive power with single-phase wattmeter.
- Measurement of parameters of a choke coil using 3 voltmeter and 3 ammeter methods.
In addition to the above eight experiments, atleast any two of the experiments from the following list are required to be conducted:
- Optical bench – Determination of polar curve measurement of MHCP of filament lamps
- Calibration LPF wattmeter – by Phantom testing
- Measurement of 3 phase power with single watt meter and 2 No’s of C.T.
- C.T. testing using mutual Inductor – Measurement of % ratio error and phase angle of given C.T. by Null method.
- P.T. testing by comparison – V.G. as Null detector – Measurement of % ratio error and phase angle of the given P.T.
- Dielectric oil testing using H.T. testing Kit
- LVDT and capacitance pickup – characteristics and Calibration
- Resistance strain gauge – strain measurements and Calibration
- Polar curve using Lux meter, Measurement of intensity of illumination of fluorescent lamp.
- Transformer turns ratio measurement using a.c. bridge.
- Relay testinf using secondary current injection set for over current & reverse current.
- A.C. Potentiometer – Polar form/Cartesian form – Calibration of AC Voltmeter, Parameters of Choke.
- Measurement of Iron loss in a bar specimen using a CRO and using a wattmeter.
