What is the different between Truncate and Delete

Truncate deletes all items and delete only deletes each row

Truncate resizes the data page of a table and delete performs operations on each row

Truncate is used to resize columns of nvarchar type whereas delete actually deletes data

Removes all rows from a table without logging the individual row deletions. TRUNCATE TABLE is functionally the same as the DELETE statement with no WHERE clause; however, TRUNCATE TABLE is faster and uses fewer system and transaction log resources.
